Mayoral Advisory Panel Meets

Minister for Local Government, Natalie Hutchins, will today hold her first meeting with the inaugural Local Government Mayoral Advisory Panel.

The meeting is the first of four, with the Panel made up of mayors from across the state.

The Panel will provide the Minister with advice on a range of legislative and strategic issues which affect councils, and provides an opportunity to draw on a wealth of experience in local government.

The first meeting will look at a range of issues including consultation for the fair go rates cap, the Andrews Labor Government’s commitment to review the Local Government Act 1989 and the role councils can play in closing the gap in their communities.
