Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Natalie Hutchins announced the funding on the show tonight.

The live broadcast of the 2016 Marngrook Footy Show Gala Grand Final Event on NITV will feature special guests, live music, the presentation of the annual Marngrook Player of the Year Award and a full preview of the AFL Grand Final.

The event will highlight the significant contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders have made to our great game.

The popular show, created by an Aboriginal enterprise, provides a great showcase for Aboriginal voices in  the media.

The Grand Final Show will be aired on NITV on the 30th of September at 8:30pm.
