Have Your Say on Victoria’s New 10-Year Mental Health Plan
The Andrews Labor Government is calling for people from across Victoria to have their input into the new 10-year Mental Health Plan, to better ensure the mental health and wellbeing of our state into the future.
The Government will consult widely to produce a plan that provides for recovery and the best quality of life for all Victorians experiencing mental illness. Input from everybody, from service providers to the community, is encouraged.
Minister for Mental Health Martin Foley said those who had experienced mental illness, their families and carers, have a particularly important role to play in developing the strategy.
The Government needs feedback from communities across Victoria. People who live in rural and regional Victoria, and people who are culturally and linguistically diverse, have unique perspectives and needs, making their feedback particularly important.
There are many great things about our specialist mental health services, and there are also opportunities for improvement.
The Labor Government is focused on delivering the right response at the right time. The new 10-year Mental Health Plan will strengthen our mental health system, better support the sector’s workers and ensure Victorians are able to achieve the best for their life.
Consultation workshops are being held in Ballarat, Geelong, Benalla, Swan Hill, Dandenong and Preston. Until September 16, all Victorians can contribute their ideas and insights and get further information about the workshops by visiting mentalhealthplan.vic.gov.au
